    Story

On 9th May 2017 my friends beautiful baby girl Aaliyah was born. After around 8 weeks old she started to notice her right side or her ribcage flaring out after months of appointments she finally got a referal for Manchester Children's Hospital her first X ray, the appointment was on her 1st birthday. She was fully diagnosed with congenital scoliosis and and a Chest wall deformity which means her spine curves 40% and her ribs flare out at 28%. After numerous appointments, x rays, mri scans Aaliyah has taken her first major step in her journey when she had a Mehta cast fit/plaster jacket molded to the full torso. By the age 5/6 she will need metal growing rods in her spine and from there as she gets older numerous other treatments. The cast itself weighs just under 2kg meaning she is now unable to sit up, bum shuffle, crawl, stand or walk. Her mum, Lauryn and her partner John have been so supportive to Aaliyah and so amazing throughout, along with caring for her baby sister and older sister. I feel they deserve a break & would love to suprise them with a trip away on their first family holiday/break together to forget all the stress and worry they have had owe the last two years. Please help me make this happen for one brave, loving family & help me put a smile back on their faces ❤️ #Aaliyahsjourney
