On Sunday 2nd December I am running with my Brother John in the 5 Mile Saltford Santa Dash to raise money for Wallace & Gromit Children's Foundation (Bristol Children's Hospital) and also the under 11's Longwell Green Colts to help them buy kit and equipment.

The 5 Mile Saltford Dash (and mini Santa Dash for youngsters) was established in 2013 to provide a community fun run and raise funds in support of locally connected charities working with young people. The idea is to enable runners, joggers, novice runners, families and friends to enjoy an enjoyable community event and to raise money for special causes. It is an enjoyable event with around 500 Santa's running around the streets of Saltford.

Here is a short piece about the 2 great causes I am raising money for :-

The Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal was established in 1995 and has raised £50 Million to support sick babies and children and their families in Bristol Children's Hospital. The grand appeal supports Bristol Children's Hospital by funding pioneering, life saving equipment and research, including ventilators, a cardiac hybird theatre and an inter operative MRI scanner, so that patients have access to the best possible healthcare and life saving equipment. We provide free accommodation to families of critically ill patients from the Neonatal and Paedistric Care Units in our cots for Totts House and Paul's House, as well as proving a free family support service for parents and siblings. We ensure the hospital is a vibrant and child friendly place to help distract sick children through out music therapy, art and play programmes and much more.

Longwell Green Under 11's Colts are based in Bristol and are a friendly but competitive club. Everyone of the Children enjoy playing football and there is a good togetherness within the team. I am running to help raise money for them so that they can buy equipment and kit.
