Story
Africa has shared with the World footballing talent like Nwanku Kanu, George Weah, Steven Pienaar and Benni Mccarthy. Football is not only an African way of life, it is a way of getting out of abject poverty for many Africans.
15 boys from all over the African continent, from various backgrounds and walks of life travelled from across South Africa hoping to achieve their dreams of one day playing in Europe.
These boys made it from over 200 players who battled and overcame exceptional circumstances to arrive at the trials held in two locations in South Africa.
But first let me tell you about me. I'm the Head of Soccer at Lowveld High School and I'm the Head Coach of TUT Men's Football. I'm thoroughly a "football man" but football to me is a means and a way to touch lives. To teach about hope and beauty and team spirit!
Apart from all these things football becomes like FIFA, goals and entertainment but ultimately changing very little in people's concrete lives.
Okay now back to the story of the boys.
Having made it to the final shortlist, these boys are now in need of financial assistance to finally move closer to theirs and the dreams of their family's.
They are in need of £37 015 to pay for the flights, accommodation, food and the training programme itself. Set to be run by UEFA Licensed Coaches at West Ridding's Association facilities in England.
We dont have time. The deadline is in 5 month's!
The programme needs a minimum of 15 players to run. Hiring of venue, coaches, arranging of accommodation it's all understandable it's a big thing!
So here I am. I'm asking you to help me change these Boy's lives! You should see their Brotherhood! How they are all pulling for each other. Our mantra has become "No Brother Left Behind". It makes sense apart from being beautiful. We need every boy to go. If one is left behind the programme won't run.
These Boys have become My Boys. I hope through this YOU can Adopt them too! Help us please!
Thank You
