I’m crowdfunding to support the Teenage Cancer trust in memory of Alexandra Hale. Alex was a 17 year old bright, kind, caring young girl who loved school and was looking forward to the life ahead of her. December 2017 after a number of headaches and not feeling very well various tests were run, they discovered the cause and was told the devastating news. A brain tumour in an inoperable position. At just 17 after hearing such life changing news she maintained a positive attitude throughout, but sadly 6 months after being diagnosed Alex sadly passed away.

I had taught Alex for many years as well as her two younger sisters at Sir James Altham Swimming Pool, which after gaining her NPLQ she then began working there as a lifeguard. She was an absolute pleasure to teach and someone I will never forget.

I have organised an event called the Alex Hale Swimathon on Sunday 19th August 2018 for people to swim as many lengths as they can and gain sponsors for their challenge. Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’ Teenage Cancer Trust are the only charity dedicated in making this happen.
