My name is Amani and I'm a hard working 16-year-old girl. I am hoping to attend the Skills for Life Award course that is organised and run by The Outward Bound Trust. They are an educational charity that use the outdoors to help develop people from all walks of life. The nineteen day course will take place during the month of July in Loch Eil, Scottish Highlands.

Participants with the help of an instructor will plan three expeditions, including which mountains to conquer, what route to take and where to pitch our camps.

For the days we're not hiking, we'll have the opportunity to try more technical activities. Like rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, gorge scrambling, caving, raft building and high ropes.

By taking part, I hope to become more independent, confident and resilient. I will also develop many valuable life skills whilst acquiring an awareness and concern for the natural environment.

The cost of the course is £1699. I have managed to take care of £1095, leaving me to pay a total of £604. Hopefully, with your help, I will be able to raise enough money so that I can take part in this course .
