We have not made the decision to reach out for help lightly, but a very convincing friend has given us the courage.

We are Anne and Bobby and as you will see from our photo we have a little boy Marcel, he is now 2 and a half. We adopted Marcel at 11 months old, after years of heartbreak and the familiar infertility story we hear sadly too often.

Once he had turned 2, we decided to get the ball rolling with the adoption process again for a little brother or sister for him, knowing it can be a lengthy journey. Unfortunately this time though we have fallen at the first hurdle as naively we were unaware that our local authority do not allow 2 children to share a room and we live in a 2 bedroom house. However, if we were able to convert our loft then we would have the 3rd bedroom required.

Understandably, people may believe that either moving house or getting a loan would be a logical solution, however without divulging too much personal information this is not currently an option.

We are keen to undertake any necessary work required as soon as possible as due to the amount of time it can take to adopt, we are conscious that Marcel is getting older and we feel it is important that they grow up together. We grew up very close to our siblings and have always dreamed of replicating it for our children.

We have always been very giving people and would always give our last £ to anyone that needed it more than us and we are hoping that years of generosity to friends, family, strangers and charities may allow for good karma to be returned now we are asking for help. There are so many very worthy causes on justgiving and some life saving pages and would never ask for our cause to be chosen over any of those, but any little extra you may have would be greatly appreciated.
