Story
In November 2016 I gave birth to my second child. What should be a joyful event in any person’s life, however, was tainted by medical complications that left my son in intensive care at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, fighting for his life against a dangerous heart condition.
George was diagnosed with neo-natal Supraventricular Tachychardia whilst he was still in the womb, and his chances of survival were almost non-existent. We were lucky enough to be under the care of the Birmingham Women’s Hospital who were able to secure an intensive care bed at BCH. Thankfully through the excellent care provided by the hospital, George was discharged just in time for Christmas.
We could not have imagined going through such an ordeal in any place other than Birmingham Children’s. The medical care was impeccable, but above and beyond that the kindness and care offered to families made all the difference.

Your Dad's cycle ride to Paris was fantastic, and I think your trek more than matches your Dad's test of character. Well done Ashley
