    Story

On Sunday 3rd March 2019 a young man lost his life simply because a gang wanted to try to steal his phone and some cash. Bonga Xulu was 19 years old and had his whole life ahead of him but now his parents have to try and find the money to bury their only son.

Sadly Bonga’s mother Winnie has already experienced tragedy when her own mother was murdered when she was just 13 years old and so she came to live with our family.

South Africa continues to be plagued by violent crime where many innocent lives are lost every day and I believe this evil can only be defeated when love is shown instead of hatred, when compassion is given instead of malice.

Bonga’s parents Winnie and Patrick have shown amazing strength in learning of their son’s death and having to identify his body. Now they have to do the hardest thing of all and arrange his funeral.

Unfortunately they do not have the thousands of rands it costs for the funeral and so I would be very grateful if those who can would help contribute a little to these costs so that his family can take him home. Please will you help this family, a little to you will mean a lot to them.

Thank you to everyone who contributed so generously to Bonga’s funeral and medical expenses. He has been laid to rest, forever young! Thanks to you all his parents were able to pay for the funeral in full as well as the hospital bills and even have some money to help cover their months wages whilst they took time out to grieve for their beloved only son. Thank you for relieving this family’s financial burdens that would have taken them years to repay back and make this time even harder to bear.Winnie and Patrick and our family are so grateful.
