June's childminders are passionate about providing the very best start for the children they care for. This month I'm raising funds to buy them brand new books to help them support their children's education from an early age.

Books are used in the setting everyday in a number of ways. Here is Angela explaining how they use books at June's:

🌟older children practice pen control in preparation for school using wipe clean books
🌟every day we have story time. This week the children learnt about going to the dentist, a family having a new baby and of course lots of story books too!
🌟one of our children has a special interest in becoming a doctor so she had some one on one time with an adult looking through a lift the flap book that focused on the human body.
🌟the children used sticker books which help develop fine motor skills, shape recognition and prompted lots of talk about the planets and what it might be like to live on the moon.
🌟 we celebrated Australia day. We ate burgers for snack, we learnt about animals native to Australia and we were able to look for Australia in our Atlas.
🌟the children matched toy animals with the animals we found in our animal books.
🌟children also get free reading time everyday where they can explore books that fuel their imagiation!

We are looking for local individuals and businesses who may be interested in making a community pledge towards our total. Putting books in the hands of children this age is an investment in local business. These children are our future. 💜
