    Story

All the world is full of suffering. It is also full of the overcoming of it.

    (Helen Keller)

Many of you are aware of the One World Welfare Mission campaigns to bring relief and a bit of joy, in various forms, to those in most need in The Punjab Province of Pakistan even though, so far, our focus has been in and around Lahore. Education, Family Food Parcels (which is on-going), Shoeboxes; you've been with us every step of the way. And we, in turn, have been humbled and in awe of the staggering generosity we have received. Thank you.

This campaign is called Boxes Of Bounty. As we sit in this seemingly constant heat and humidity, we are planning for the colder time of the year. The colder time and the darker time. Our aim is to fill 60 Boxes of Bounty and distribute them to the poorest in our community - primarily at 2 Brick Kiln sites as we did from last 4 years.

If we end up in a position to also provide some coats and blankets, that would be beyond our wildest dreams.

For this, we again ask for your help. We are very aware of the global damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic from last 2 years, not least to the economies of nations and individuals. Anything you can give to help us bring light and hope in the coming colder/darker months, would be of huge benefit and greatly appreciated. No money we receive is ever spent on travel costs or 'admin' issues. The OWWM policy is to always give ALL we receive to those whose need is greatest. We are the SMALL charity with the BIG heart. We are different, and proud of it. Thank you.

Babar's story. Babar, a young street orphan kid from a Manak village, pupil of OWMS. He was in little more than rags. He is one of four children. One of his siblings is disabled. His mother passed away when he born and his father passed away last year during accident. Naturally, Babar and his family have benefitted from our Family Food Parcels. We noticed that Babar's sandals had all but disintegrated, so we gave him some new ones at a cost of less than $8.00 (5.95 GBP) approximately. The only words I can find to describe his reaction are stunned excitement. We didn't know whether to smile or weep, such was the effect on this one child.

Pic: Babar with his new shoes, clothes & food parcel.

Babar is not from a Brick Kiln community, but the poverty levels are identical. Imagine what a Box Of Bounty will bring with it. (Yes, Babar's family may get one of the boxes.)

You can follow all that we do on our Facebook ( https://web.facebook.com/OWWMission/) and Twitter(@welfare_one) pages. (Our website is currently defunct, but we hope that we'll have a new one by the end of next month.)

When we do the best that we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another. (Helen Keller)
