    Story

Thank you for taking the time to click on this page.

My wonderful friend Allie (Alison Graham-Wells) passed away on 3rd January 2019, after a long and bravely fought battle with illness.

Allie and I met at Bar School - a time that would define the rest of our adult lives and a friendship that lasted nearly three decades. We did our pupillage in chambers a few doors from each other; she was at no. 5 King’s Bench Walk, I was at no. 9. The Temple bearing witness to many adventures as we took our first steps as Barristers...

Allie was an amazing human being, and, like many others, I am grateful for the time I was lucky enough to have her in my life.

She was fierce, fearless and fought to see justice in all she did.

    Allie was mother to Oliver.

A gorgeous boy who is so much his mother’s son... Oliver is 14 and is distraught at the loss of his mother.

Olly has expressed a wish to have a memorial bench at Inner Temple Garden, his mum’s Inn of Court. A place his mother loved.

I can’t think of a nicer way to commemorate Allie and to give Olly a wonderful link to his mum’s life at the Bar.

The future on very many levels is uncertain for this young man but I would like to make Olly’s wish a reality.

If you can help - please do.

    Thank you x

PS. Although I have specified the minimum amount we need to raise, anything achieved over it, will be given to Olly and Lorna (his grandmother - who now has sole care of Olly) and hopefully could fund a holiday for the two of them and a chance for Olly to continue in his mother’s footsteps and her love of travel.

Dear All, I am so grateful for everyone’s support and genoristy in helping achieve a fantastic amount already. My hope was to make it to £3000 before the end of next week when I’m off to see Olly and his grandmother. Can you help make it happen? Many thanks and big love x

Dear All, I am touched by and grateful for everyone’s generosity which means that we are now in a position to fulfil Olly’s wish. My own wish is that we would raise enough to allow Olly and his grandmother (who is his sole carer) to be able to go on a lovely holiday and start, I hope, to heal. If you haven’t had a chance to yet, and can help, that would be amazing. Big love x

Allie was my neighbour in Chambers. Sadly, I did not know her for long, but she was inspirational in her determination and thought for others.
