Sadly, Brian 'Scottish' Mays passed away on the Friday 18th January at Broomfield hospital. He had developed pneumonia after having a fall the day before. Brian had been battling cancer for sometime previously and had recently been given the 'all clear'. I can only assume that his immune system was low due to the cancer treatment. Brian had worked on a self employed basis but could not work during his treatment and sadly Brian had no estate to pay for a private funeral, instead he is to have a paupers funeral. This crowdfunding page was set-up to raise funds for a memorial to Brian so that his passing did not go 'unmarked'. Amazingly, the response has been so positive that we are now hoping to instead, fund Brian with a modest private cremation so that he can have the service he deserves.
