Story
In memory of Chris Gibbard we are raising donations for the following three charities who were close to Chris’ heart and helped him through his Cancer treatment.
The charities are;
- The Hogarth Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at Nottingham City Hospital, where Chris receievd his chemotherapy treatment.
- Clic Sargent Young People’s Service, who supported Chris on day to day issues during and after his treatment.
- The Willow Trust who gave Chris a fabulous day of freedom to celebrate the end of his treatment.
Chris had a beautiful, kind and caring soul and he was never afraid to express his emotions. He filled his time involving himself in as many activities as he could. He loved music. He never saw competition, pressure or negativety in a situation just the process of doing. He surrounded himself with community and gave as much to these as he could. He would never refuse a favour or the opportunity to get stuck in. This year in honour of Chris we will also be partaking in numerous events such as the Tough Mudder (Chris’ debut 10 mile victory), an inflatable obstacle run and an Ultra Marathon as well as many others we are sure.
We would appreciate all donations and will be sharing the amount raised between the three charities.
Lots of love,
The Gibbard Family and Friends. X

5 years agoI'd like to share a paragraph from a letter received from Nottingham Hospitals Charity (Hogarth Ward): "Dear Carl, We are incredibly touched to have received your donation of £2,600 for Hogarth Ward at Nottingham City Hospital, in memory of your son, Christopher Thomas Gibbard. Thank you so much for thinking of the Ward in Chris' honour and our thanks, also, to your wonderful family, friends and local community for their amazing support." Thank all of you for what you have done and what you intend to do during the year.

5 years agoI am happy to report that we have now raised a total of £5,200 (Including donations made at the time of the Funeral). We have decided to pass on this money now to the three nominated charities (£2,600 to The Hogarth Ward, £1,300 to Willow and £1,300 to Clic Sargent). Chris's family and friends will continue to raise money in his name and this will include participation in some events later in 2019. So watch this space and thank you once again for your overwhelming generosity.

5 years agoOnce again a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated. We have been asked to keep the page operational until the end of the month so that some of you can donate after payday. Obviously we are happy to do this. I've contacted all of the charities and they are looking forward to receiving the donations.
