Story
Hi Everyone,
Myself and a few friends will be going to Hamleys toy store in December to buy toys for kids at Great Ormond Street Hospital, who are too ill to celebrate Christmas at home.
From personal experience, I know how miserable it can be to spend Christmas in hospital, despite the best efforts of all the nurses and doctors to raise low spirits. That's why we're hoping to bring in some of the Xmas cheer and spread the widest smiles through a couple of the wards.
We've already raised £800 and are looking to crowdfund an extra £200 to reach our £1,000 target. We know it’s a big ask, especially given the time left until the end of the month, but I know we can do it.
We would love to receive your donations! As a guideline, £10 will buy one toy for a child. If you have a preference as to the kind of toy you would like your money to buy, let us know in a comment! The age range of the children we are buying presents for is between 4-18.
Thank you and Happy Xmas!

6 years agoYesterday, we bought £500 worth of sensory toys for children with learning disabilities. We spoke to a nurse who worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital for 19 years and she said that sensory toys were so useful, but there were so few available in the wards because they are relatively expensive. Hopefully, the new toys will be a valuable addition to the hospital and help further the development of children, while they're being treated.
