A very special friend of mine hasnt had the easiest of times recently. Single Mum to 4 children, Taylor, Harvey, Isla and Lacey. After her soul mate recentlly passing away amy was broken hearted. Its not secret that every day was a struggle. Just when she thought things couldnt get any worse, her beautuful daighter Isla was taken ill at school with headaches and sickness. After 2 trips to the Doctors and A&E and being sent away with no answers, another friend of amys suggested the opticians. After a visit to the opticians they noticed obvious swelling behind the eyes, and imediatley sent Amy to the bristol childrens hospital where just hours later they disovered a life threatening Brain tumor. Isla then had to undergo tbe first of 2 operations to release fluid and pressure in her brain caused by the Tumor... it was a sucess! barely having time to recover brave little Isla had to undergo a 10 hour operation on the 29th June to remove the tumor, thank you to the amazing NHS they sucessfully removed the tumor which was the size of a satsuma, they dont believe its cancerous Which is a blessing. Isla is doing amazingly well, and talking, eating and smiling. The road to recovery is going to take time. A few months off of school and lots of rest but we are all praying for a full recovery. As you can imagine, in an instance Amy and her familys lifes were turned upside down. Amy has been by her darling Islas bedside for days, stressed exhausted and emotionally drained as any mother would be. As her friend feeling helpless i really wanted to be able to do something to help put some smiles back on Amys and the childrens faces. I thought it would be lovely to raise some money for them all to enjoy a holiday together once isla is feeling better.
