On April 3rd 2019 our gorgeous boy Clayton Stuart Hague-Winterbottom was taken very suddenly. He was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital where the A&E staff tried their very hardest to bring him back, but Clayton was taken and has left a very very large void in all of our hearts and lives.

Mum, Sam Hague Winterbottom, and Dad, John Winterbottom, have cared for Clayton for 11 years just as parents should. However, with claytons additional needs which he was diagnosed with at a very young age, Autism and Epilepsy amongst others, this job was very challenging. Yet they never gave up.

Clayton lived a very happy life with his family, and friends at the King Fisher special school and his youth centre. Clayton loved attending both of these, and wherever he went he definitely made an impression. At school, he had so many friends, many more than us as a family understood. One day Clayton was shopping and saw his school friend who came over a give a great big kiss and cuddle to each other whilst talking in their special language to each other.

At the youth centre, Clayton was a little bit of a favourite and main man! The leader of the youth centre used to sneakily take Clayton shopping during the sessions as his “little buddy” but unfortunately had to stop as Clayton closed the boot prematurely on his head by accident!

Even at the dentist! Everyone knew him, with his “well hard” walk looking like he was carrying carpets, and his colourful gestures and personality was infectious to say the least.

It’s these stories that have come out whilst informing people of this tragic news, of how much Clayton touched peoples lives, not just family and friends, but everyone, some who we don’t actually know personally.

This is why we have set up this just giving page, to allow those who knew and loved Clayton, to give whatever they wish to be spent on balloons, flowers and toys for Clayton funeral. We want to ensure it is showed on this day, just how loved and cherished this boy is, and will forever be, by many many people.

Clayton loved balloons! They were his favourite on his birthday especially. Clayton loved dogs too! He also loved cars, any car! He would be able to spot a family members car from far away before mum and dad had even seen it! He loved chocolate eggs which were his absolute favourite, and this time of year was the best for clayton as he got lots of “BIG EGGS!!” And No egg came without his favourite blackcurrent fruit shoot either.

Anyone who has met clayton will have their own stories of him and will have touched their life in one way or another. Many people, friends and family have asked what they can do to help, and we can imagine there are many more out there thinking the same. So we have set this page up to buy balloons, toys and flowers for the funeral.
