CORY'S STORY...

Our gorgeous little boy Cory was born with multiple severe complex medical needs including an extremely rare genetic condition called DYRK1a (only 200 diagnosed worldwide) and a life limiting neurological condition that has resulted in extremely painful, intermittent bowel failure.

Cory is nil by mouth and for 20+ hours a day he has to be pump fed by tubes connected directly into his intestines as well as a gastric drainage bag to manage his stomach contents. This also means Cory has to receive the majority of his medication by a permanent intravenous line in his chest.

To add to this, Cory has more recently been diagnosed with an immune deficiency and has zero tolerance to any infections and therefore requires immunoglobulin therapy every 3 weeks.

Our unbelievably brave boy faces the biggest of battles on a daily basis that no child should ever have to face but despite this he continues to fight each day with a smile on his face. Cory's strength and resilience is amazing and he gives our family the strength to continue to strive to give our precious little boy the very best quality of life we can possibly give him...
