The Beacon School provides education for pupils with profound, severe & complex learning needs.

Residential trips are a vital part of the journey for these children in preparation for their adult life, but these experiences are not always obtainable due to the increased cost required to provide the right facilities and care that the children require.

As well as the opportunity to go somewhere they may otherwise not, these trips provide a real life rehearsal for skills that a teenager may commonly take for granted such as maintaining personal hygiene and taking responsibility for time keeping.

There is no budget available for this kind of experience so the school are left raising funds on behalf of children themselves.

The staff that attend these residential trips do so voluntarily, receiving no pay for their time.
