I'm running the Yorkshire Marathon on October 14th to raise funds for A Theatre Trip for Every Child in Stockton-on-Tees. I'm taking it disgustingly seriously so give me your money.

I know everyone runs marathons for charity these days, to the extent that it seems a bit ho hum. So if it helps you to dig deeper, I did run a 10K for the same cause on September 8th. I'm running 52K for charity! That's an ultramarathon! Wow! DIG DEEP.

A Theatre Trip for Every Child is ARC’s new charitable giving scheme, aiming to give every five year old child in Stockton the chance of a free trip to the theatre. For many children it will be their very first experience of theatre...! I grew up just up the road in Middlesbrough and I can tell you that this sort of thing can have a profound impact on a young life.

By supporting A Theatre Trip for Every Child, you will be introducing very young children to the potentially life-changing world of live theatre. Your donation will help make a trip to the theatre one of a child’s earliest memories and perhaps even one of the most influential experiences of their young lives.

For every £10 raised, one young person gets a ticket. If I reach my target of £500, that'll be 50 kids seeing a show.

If you don't want there to be more people like me, theatre makers from areas like Teesside, then don't give to this fundraiser. If you don't want young people to have potentially transformative experiences of live performance at ARC, one of the finest arts centres in the country, then don't give to this fundraiser. If you hate children and art and the working class, then don't give to this fundraiser. Otherwise, dig deep. I'm going to run as fast as I can.
