A year ago my Nana died as a result of Dementia and I've wanted to do something for a while in her memory. I have chosen to run Leicester half marathon to do this. Running is not something that come natural to me but I wanted a challenge so here we are, on Sunday 6th October I will be struggling to breathe as I force my legs 13 miles around the streets of Leicester. My original plan was to simply raise money and awareness for Dementia UK however I know that Nana would have preferred to support an animal charity hence why I am now choosing to also give some of the money raised to Folls Field.

Dementia UK provide nurses and support for sufferers and their families and Folls Field is a horse charity that I have been supporting for over 10 years. It is currently home to 8 horses and ponies who would have otherwise been put to sleep and has helped many others over the years, any money raised will be put towards paying for the winter hay supply.
