Hello, my name is Katy and I am 15 years old. I have been a Scout and am now an Explorer in Humberside County.

After completing a long application form and attending a selection weekend I have been given the amazing opportunity to represent our County at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, USA in 2019.

This is going to be the biggest Scout Jamboree to date with over 40,000 Scouts coming together in one place. It is going to be bigger than the Olympics and is being hosted by America, Mexico and Canada and I can't believe I have been chosen to attend.

I will be away for 3 weeks during which time I will go to the Jamboree, stay with a local Boy Scout of America troop in their local area and visit either New York or Washington DC - we are yet to find out!

The trip is going to be so beneficial to me, to help me build my confidence, make friends from different countries and learn about different cultures and way of life. I plan to share my experiences far and wide when I get home.

To be able to go on this trip, I need to raise £3845. I would be really grateful for any donations towards my goal.
