Story
Sacred Heart School has been working with Ayensudo Junior High School in Ghana since 2012.
Staff and students have worked tirelessly to raise funds to not only visit the school but also to help towards vital improvement projects, such as building a rainwater harvesting system, decorating kindergarten classrooms and most recently, building a bungalow to house 20 trainee teachers.
This partnership also means that our students gain a valuable insight into helping those less fortunate. We are all incredibly proud of their efforts so far; they are giving up weekends, climbing Roseberry Topping and hosting lots of cake sales.
I have volunteered to support the visit in 2019 and in doing so, I have been working with the students and other members of staff on various fundraising projects.
On Boxing Day 2018, myself and Hannah Wiley (a teacher at Sacred Heart who has previously visited Ghana and spends a great deal of time fundraising for the projects) will be braving the icy temperatures of the North Sea in fancy dress no less.
We would be extremely grateful if you could give any amount towards this wonderful cause!
