In 2012 myself and some friends did a trek in the Sahara Desert to raise funds for our local Hospice, while in Morocco we built some shelters in the grounds of Mohammed V Hospital Marrakesh for the visitors so they had somewhere to sit in the shade. Visiting hours are not like ours... very limited and not regular times, familes have to wait outside in the blazing heat!!

While we were building the shelters someone left a newborn baby at the gates with hospital security. We were in total shock!! Shortly after a nurse came to collect the baby and we later found out there was an orphanage in a little nook in the grounds of the hospital.

We went and knocked on the doors to see if we could help in any way... they showed us around. We met, held, played, cuddled and kissed each of the little ones.... that was it.... we knew then we had to help.

All of us emptied our purses and sought out a local chemist and supermarket and filled the trolly with much needed baby milk and nappies. We returned with our goodies.... the staff were so grateful they cried tears of joy!

Since then this has been my chosen charity and i have continued to support them with visits taking cases full of clothing!!!

My last visit was March this year, there was one room that had 5 babies in cots from newborn to 6 months, all fast asleep, the next room had 5 infants all in cots up to 18 months old... the resident 👶🏻 of one put his arms out to me and then was on my hip for the whole time i was there! I spent an afternoon with them replacing the old clothing and blankets in the cupboards with my cases full of beautiful new things donated by my lovely friends. On this visit i was privilged to meet some of the older children, i sat on the floor playing games with them... they couldn't understand my foriegn sing song but a smile, a friendly face and a hug isn't a language barrier!!! The staff are truly amazing! One was in a cot cuddling a toddler while he slept, one was riding a trike for a 3 year old racing around the foyer with her little competitor, another was folding washing while a sleeping tolder was strapped to her back 😂 you certainly don't see that in our hospitals!!! The place is spotlessly clean and full of love but sadly they havent got much in the way of quality clothing and blankets... AND FOOD!

My next planned visit is in February 2019 we fund the trip ourselves and take donations of baby / children’s clothing to fill our cases. I buy milk, nappies, wipes while there.

So many people have asked if they can give me money to buy milk and until now i have refused so setting up this crowdfunding page is a way you can donate. EVERY SINGLE PENNY raised will go towards purchasing items in Marrakesh. I will be posting pictures and receipts.

There is no welfare system or government fund taking care of this organisation, it relies totally on donations and volunteer staff. It’s crammed full of babies who all need to be clothed and fed.....!
