Weʼve raised £3,827 to mark the passing of our dear friend Gary Wood. The money will be used to contribute to the cost of the wake and causes close to his heart.

Story
You are very warmly invited to the Funeral and Celebration of the life of Gary Wood at 3:30pm on Tuesday 26th February at St Pauls, Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 1JP, and afterwards for refreshments.
Our dear friend Gary was a warm, funny and caring man who loved sport and had an army of friends. His death came as a great shock to us all and left us all with a tremendous sense of loss. Many of you have talked about making a donation in his memory. The idea behind this fund is to help commemorate his passing and celebrate his life.
To this end, we, his friends will contribute to the cost of the wake.
Gary’s love of travel and different cultures made him a strong believer in the rights of displaced persons, so any residual contributions will be shared between the Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign and Assist Sheffield - please visit their websites to see what work they do.

5 years agoDear family and friends of Gary, We have now paid the costs of the wake and have made donations of £1102 to each of Assist Sheffield and Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign. Thank you all for your generosity. I know it is really appreciated by the charities and both have commented on how Gary was clearly loved by many. I am sure he would be proud of these donations in his name. Thank you once again.

Thank you to all of you who contributed to the fund. The amount raised and number of donors was a real testament to Gary. I think we had a truly memorable wake, thanks to you all. We are waiting for a last couple of invoices but it looks like we will be able to give each of the two charities a decent donation. Once we can draw the accounts to a close I will let you know what donations we made. Thank you all again for your generosity and the sentiments expressed.
