Hello my name is Mary and I was inspired by James Simpson during his DECA (an ironman triathlon every day for 10 days!) to improve my fitness and well-being. YOLO! In September 2022 I began my journey and with support from my Warrior family, Slimming World consultants, family, friends and colleagues, my body shape and physical fitness have improved so much plus i have lost 4 stone.

I am aiming, in the next couple of months, to loose a few more pounds and get to the next dress size down. I will do this by attending the Warriors Aqua class twice a week plus taking part in the pocket gym classes and having a weekly weigh in. Whilst doing this I'll be raising some much needs funds for Alfreton Youngsters Umbrella Provision (AYUP).

What will the money be used for? Any funds raised will be used to support AYUP, a community project which was set up in 2023. AYUP's goal is to provide safe secure environments where youngsters aged 11-18 can meet together, build positive relationships and positively impact their community. Unfortunately the town of Alfreton has lost all youth facilities over the years and AYUP is working to re-establish them. At present youngsters have the opportunity to participate in a regular Friday night Youth Club with activities provided by The Old farm Bus, a Wednesday night Sports Club at Alfreton Leisure Centre and a youth outreach project is running on Monday nights through the Blend Youth Project aiming to engage with and support the young people who are present across the town. AYUP aim to ensure all the activities are free for the young people which is why any funds raised are so appreciated.
