Please read the following Facebook status from Luke's parents.

I’ve tried to write this status dozens of times today but struggled to find the words.

I met with Luke’s consultant at the RVI yesterday to discuss the results from his latest set of tests and scans. The MIBG scan, combined with the results from his bone marrow test have shown that his bone marrow is packed with Neuroblastoma, which has spread aggressively through his body. There are now no viable treatment options available in this country to Luke. We are in contact with a hospital in Barcelona to find out if they are in a position to help, however as things stand Luke has been given weeks to live.

His family are utterly heartbroken, and words can’t describe how devastating this news has been. Our focus now is to keep him as comfortable and pain free as possible, and to make the absolute most of the time we’ve got left with him.

He is currently tired most of the time, but is keen to see people. It is also our wish that Luke doesn’t find out his situation, so I’d ask anyone that spends time with him to be as positive and happy as possible. We have arranged for the Battle Bus to be at Mowden Arena from 4.30 until 6.30 on Saturday should any of his friends/classmates wish to come and play with him, and if he’s up to it we may organise a Christmas party next week.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported him, organised or taken part in fundraising, or held him in their thoughts and prayers, we are extremely grateful that he has had, and continues to have so much love in his life.
