On Saturday 3
rd October I am doing a tandem skydive from 10000ft in order to raise money for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy, a charity that is very important to our family. I am doing the jump with Sue Farrington, Sarah’s mum and yes I will be making sure I am going out 2
nd so I make the most of the opportunity of pushing my Mother in law out of a plane!
The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children provides the funding for the School for parents service which Dominic has been attending for over 2 years now. It is a free to all service has been a lifeline to Sarah & me and was pretty much the first specialist service we received once Dominic was diagnosed with Dystonic & Spastic quadriplegia. The service supports families through the early years and helps to ensure that their child achieves their maximum potential and becomes a more integrated member of society.
In the School for Parents the principles are applied to the families' daily lives at school, at home, and at play. They are taught with us as parents and incorporated into Dominic’s routines at home. Conductive Education achieves active purposeful movement and empowers the child to make choices, to become independent and take responsibility for themselves
DVLT has full responsibility for funding this service and needs to find more than £300000 through voluntary contributions to secure this vital service every year, so every penny helps!
Dominic thoroughly enjoys his time there and the staff there has become very much an integral part of his support system and friends to us. Their endless support, in many different ways, to the whole family has been invaluable.
They would really appreciate any donation ( large or small!! ) you can make to sponsor me and it will also also help spur me on to doing the jump.
Thank you very much for any donation large or small!
