My story

Hello and welcome to Mark and J's fundraising home page.
The cycle is underway! For updates on our progress visit our blog:

PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND WATCH OR DOWNLOAD THIS SHORT FILM:

After watching the film, you might like to take a look at the Yorkhill Muscle Fund website, at http://www.yorkhillmusclefund.org/.

Now that you're here, have a look round and discover why you need to to help us to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy.

I have a close family member, a very young man called Eoghan, who lives in Dumbarton and suffers from this horrible disease.  He is a fantastic young man who used to be very mobile and independent.  Unfortunately, unlike most healthy children, the older Eoghan gets, the more dependent he becomes on his loving family and on his wheelchair.

Boys are most likely to suffer from this condition. There is no cure for this disease. Muscular Dystrophy is not a high-profile charity. I want to raise awareness and raise much-needed money so that boys like Eoghan have a better future and quality of life. This illness could strike any family. More research needs to be done.

I am honoured to be joined by my good friend Jay. Jay and I will be riding our bikes from Dublin to Dumbarton (Ireland to Scotland) on Saturday 26th May, hoping to cover the 200 miles and reach our destination by Friday 1st June.

Both of us are funding the trip (flights, ferry, accommodation etc) ourselves, so all money raised goes directly to the charity.  Our legs will be aching, our bums sore, our hands blistered.....so please help us with as much or as little as you can afford.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Muscular Dystrophy Campaign will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
