IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A DONATION, PLEASE GO TO OUR LATEST FUND RAISING PAGE CALLED:
CYCLE FOR GAMBIA THE MOVIE (just click on this link)

THERE YOU CAN WATCH THE TRAILER FOR OUR FILM - ALL ABOUT HOW WE RAISED OVER 60,000EUROS IN 2009 AND HOW THIS MONEY HAS BEEN USED TO BRING WATER TO OVER 3000 PEOPLE IN GAMBIA.

BIG THANKS FOR SUPPORTING US LAST YEAR. COME ON, LETS DO A LITTLE BIT MORE IN 2010!!

**********************************************************************************************************************************
Super Mega Thank You To Everyone For Supporting Us and Making It Possible For Us To Exceed Our Fund Raising Target.  Thanks To Your Sponsorship, More Than 3000 People In Gambia Will Have Clean & Safe Water in Spring 2010.

The Monies Raised Are Being Used To Help Two Villages - Njongon & M'Bollet Bah.
We Originally Thought We Would Be Able To Help One Village, But PING Charity Have Managed To Secure A Substantial Discount On The Cost Of The Works, And, The Villagers Are Doing Some Of The Work, Which Is Helping To Make The Cycle For Gambia Monies Raised Go Further.

When We Started This Project We Had The Aim Of Bringing Clean Water To A Community 700-800 People - So For Nearly 4 Times This Number Of Villagers To Benefit Is Absolutely Fantastic!

YOU CAN STILL MAKE A DONATION. . .
These Will Be Used To Fund Bee Hives, A Market Garden And Create Incoming Earning & Sustainable Activities So The Villagers Can Become Self Sufficient.

20 Sep  Our 'Guess The Mileage' competitions at Episkopi Fete & Paphos Tigers proved to be popular and raised €460!  We cycled 159KM in 5 hours last Sunday and this weekend we managed 111KM in 4 hours was far hotter
-well that's our excuse anyway!  An average speed of 30KM per hour not bad at all. Thanks to everyone for your guesses... some were quite outrageous guessing we'd do over 600KM - wish that was possible!

Over €1500.00 - that's how much we raised at our Robbie Williams Tribute Night Extravanganza. This was a great start to our fund raising. The venue was packed and, we even had guests from Japan and Finland watching the show!
The best moment of the night had to be the guys doing the Cycle For Gambia Full Monty.  And to top it all off Elvis, Cher, Tina Turner and the Blues Brothers stopped by to Sing For Gambia!  Make sure you check out the photos.

HELP TO BRING CLEAN WATER TO A COMMUNITY IN NEED IN AFRICA.

ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER IS THE KEY TO POVERTY REDUCTION IN THE DEVELOPING WORLD.

Every penny of your donation will go directly towards the construction of a BORE HOLE and WATER TANK in a Gambian village.

Please sponsor us today and make an enormous difference to the lives of a whole community.

WHAT WE ARE DOING. . .
We have taken on the challenge to bring clean water to a village in Gambia by cycling 750 kilometres round Cyprus in 7 days, from 1-7 November 2009.

Our target is to raise £60,000 for PING Charity to build a BORE HOLE and WATER TANK that will enable a community of 800 people, in one of the poorest countries in Africa, to  CLEAN & SAFE have running water.

This will mean a better life for the community and the opportunity to escape the trap of poverty

WHY WE ARE DOING THIS CHALLENGE. . .
Bringing clean water to a Gambian village will make a difference to these statistics. . .

<<< 884 MILLION people in the world do not have access to safe water >>>
This equates to 1 in 8 of the world's population

<<< 1.8 MILLION children die every year of diseases caused by unclean
            water & poor sanitation >>>
                 That's 5000 CHILD DEATHS EVERYDAY

<<< 443 MILLION school days are lost each year due to water-related diseases >>>

<<< 40 BILLION working hours are spent carrying water each year in Africa >>>

<<< Households in rural Africa spend 26% of their time fetching water >>>

<<< 20KG is the weight of water women in Africa commonly carry on their heads >>>
That's the average baggage allowance on an international flight

<<< Gambia is one of the poorest countries in the world.
Nearly half of its 1.8million population lives on less than $1 per day >>>
