Story
hello,
we finished the cyclelast night, over twelve days, taking in 5 peaks (one of which has been recently re-measured and crowned the highest road in the world!), and finishing our last day with a 130km marathon..... but it was an amazing experience, and we would like to thank all those that made those long days travelling uphill non-stop worth it by supporting Future Hope! If you would like to donate and haven't yet done so please feel free.....
once again, thank you to all those that have given so generously,
Sam, Josh and Fred

as an update everyone, we have now arrived in Manali after two days of difficult travelling on un=airconditioned busses with huge cardboard boxes filled with bikes, preceded by twelve hours of solid haggling only to be ripped off anyway....
but, we are here, and having spent the day acclimatizing we head off on our recently put back together bikes tomorrow.....
first day is all up hill (quite literally), so if you are indeed interested in sponsoring a very worthy cause (visit the Future Hope site-link on this page to see the great work they do) please do so below...
many thanks to those that have supported, some pictures should be going up soon with us in our fantastic DIY stash..

many thanks to all that have
Hi,
We will be disappearing into the Himalayas this summer for three weeks to do a spot of mountain biking. Taking on big hills with minimal oxygen won’t be easy, but we’re up for the challenge. More importantly, we want to raise as much money as we possibly can for Future Hope, our chosen charity. Future Hope provides homes for street children in Kolkata, India. Please visit the Future Hope website for more info and pictures of the good work they're doing.
We'll be following an arduous route in the himalayas north of Delhi this summer, cycling between 60-80km a day at altitudes approaching 5000m! We'll be updating this site, along with our Facebook page ('Cycling the Himalayas'), as our planning comes along, but we wanted to let everyone know what we are doing nice and early as we're very excited about the venture!
If you want to talk with us about what we're doing please don't hesitate to contact any of us:
Sam King- 07903 454 219 (sam.king@dur.ac.uk)
Freddie Cook- 07974 660 595 (freddie_cook@hotmail.co.uk)
Josh Fortnum- 07920 752 712 (joshfortnum@theapollogroup.co.uk)
In the meanwhile, thanks for taking an interest in what we're doing, and if you feel inclined, please give generously, all donations are welcome and greatly appreciated!
