Story
Hi everyone...
Thanks for taking the time out to visit my page...I have a target of £2000 to reach by april...so thought I would get started!
As some of you may be aware, I lost my Dad to cancer on January 3rd 2003. One of the things that will always remain with me about my Dad is his love of running, come rain or shine, he was out there every morning doing his routine 3 miles...if not more! During his lifetime, he completed 3 London Marathons for The Great Ormond Street childrens hospital...a charity that was very close to his heart. However, when he fell ill he was treated by a surgeon by the name of Dr. Charles Akle...who incidentally is one of the founders of the Teenage Cancer Trust. My dad had always said that if he was to get better, he would run the marathon once more for this unbelievable cause. Sadly...he never got to fulfil his wish...and therefore...I have decided to undertake the challenge.
I am by no means a runner...so at the moment 26 miles is looking a bit daunting...however, the training starts now! So please give me even more motivation by sponsoring me! Its for a great cause...so lets see if we can exceed my target! Even if you can only afford a few quid, you will be helping!!
Thank you all so much!
