Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
For those who know me other than through my writing, I wrote a computer programming book 'Ajax in Action' last year. The publisher decorates the book jackets with original period illustrations taken from 18th century travelogues and journals. My book got a Sultana (i.e. wife of a Sultan) from the Ottoman court (pictured left).
My wife and daughter came back from swimming one day with a flyer for the Bristol drag race. The cause is a good one, and the race is just plain daft, so I'm going to embarrass myself in the name of a good cause, by dressing up as the Ottoman sultana from the book jacket and racing 300 metres over inflatable obstacles. In return, I ask you to dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bristol Cancer Help Centre will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
