Having served for 22 years in the Royal Air Force and completing tours in Northern Ireland, Kosovo and Iraq I was diagnosed with PTSD in November 2014 some 6 years after my retirement. 

I self referred to Combat Stress and following a home assessment and then an outpatient appointment at Audley Court Treatment Centre, I commenced a 6 week course of intensive therapy in February of this year together with a further 24 guys suffering from similar conditions.

The support I received from this 'Mental Health Charity' was second to none and with their help I have been able to find a way of managing my condition through various techniques from Mindfulness and breathing exercises through to Tai Chi and Art Therapy.

As a thank you I am now wishing to take on a series of challenges starting with the Hell on the Humber a 24 hour endurance race.  2 miles out and 2 miles back how many times can this be completed in a 24 hour period.

So please give generously.  PTSD within Veterans is on the increase and in the last 12 months, there has been a rise of 26% in those approaching Combat Stress for help.

Just £10 - £20 provides material for art therapy work.

£125 Consultation with a Psychiatrist

£400 one day's treatment in a short stay treatment centre.

Now it's time to hit the gym before another run.......
