Story

For those of you thinking to yourselves, WOW! David's doing a lot of running, races and excercise - let me explain to you why.

Im David Woodcock and I am the founder of Team Woodcock
Before my Dad passed away at Christmas time in St Teresa's Hospice as I was leaving I had some "me and him only time". I made him a promise that I would do something to make him proud, to say thank you for all he di...
d for me over the years.

That promise was turned into
...something which I knew would benefit me also, so I said that I would do a 10k run for 4 months, then half marathons ending with marathons for a whole year.

So my first 10k run was in May 2012 which was the Ted Pepper 10k in Bromley,Kent finishing that in 63 minutes and 49 seconds, where alot of you helped me to raise a fantastic £700 as a thank you to the hospice. In June I ran the Orpington 10k finishing that in 63 minutes 21 seconds and on July 22nd I have completed the Bupa Great North 10k in 56 minutes 11 seconds. In August I ran the Darlington 10k in 55 minutes 21 seconds.
September was the first Marathon starting with the Tonbridge Half Marathon where I met Dame Kelly Holmes. I ran this in 2 hours 11 minutes 35 seconds. I then ran the Nike+ Run to the Beat on 28th October in 2 hours 21 minutes 5 seconds. Not bad considering I was coughing and spluttering, and I stopped at 10k for a pee.On 25th of November I ran South London 10k in 58.45 seconds and finished off 2012 with a Santa Dash with Luella (4 yrs) and George (18 months).

The last monthly run will be in May 2013. This will be followed by a 100k walk and then I am also going to organise my own run. Every single one of these runs are done in Dad's memory , and I have told him that he better be bloody running with me!
