Hey!
First, thanks so much visiting my page and thanks for helping me reach my minimum target of £1,500!
So, cut back to September 2009 and I've just completed the Run To The Beat Half Marathon...I ring up my Mum to tell her I managed it:
"Mum: So, do you reckon you'll ever do anything like this again?
David: Hell No! That was literally the most painful experience of my life. I'd rather eat my own...(insert appropriate object here)!!!"
Three days later and I'm signed up to run the 2010 Virgin London Marathon for the Lymphoma Association and I honestly couldn't be happier! Why? I hear you ask? Well, a number of reasons:
a. It is the biggest challenge I have ever been presented with.
b. It means I'll be giving up drinking for a while (clear skin...whoop!)
c. I am going to be running in aid of a wonderful charity, The Lymphoma Association, which is the only specialist UK charity that provides aaccurate medical information and support to lymphatic cancer patients, their friends and familes.
d. And most importantly, I am doing all of this in the memory of one of the most amazing people ever to have graced my life, my Grandad John Rickarby, who died of Lyphoma related complications in 2005 and is sorely missed by all those who loved him.
So, yes, thank you for visiting, but if you managed to read down to this bit, please, please, PLEASE give as generously as you can so that the Lymphoma Association can continue to do great work.
Lots of Love, David xxx
