Through my work at Alder Hey Children's Hospital I have worked alongside the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) in enhancing the environment, staff support and care of teenagers being treated for cancer in our Oncology Unit. Whether one of our many success stories returning to the bosom of their families, or the thankfully rare and very sad loss of a young life, the journey is immensely important for the whole family. Money raised by the TCT  helps to make make this very stressful time as good as it can be. 

I am doing this trip in memory of my wife Bev whose loss just over 4 years ago devastated a whole family. She did not have cancer nor was she a teenager but even 47 is far too young especially with 6 children and 2 step children. She had a degree in nursing, she loved children of all ages, she cared for the elderly, she constantly gave to charity and she had a real adventurous streak. I believe she would wholeheartedly approve of me taking up this challenging and the cause of the TCT.

My team of the Fab 4 including Bevs brother will be driving an Austin Ambassaador taxi from Chennai in India round the tip of India to Goa via the Ranni Jungle. Oh and the car will decorated as a yellow submarine while we are dressed as the Beatles. We have promised TCT £1000 each so that's £4000 from our car/submarine so we will be grateful for whatever you can give.
