After a "few social drinks" I had the Dutch courage to say "Hell Yeah - why not, London Marathon next year - I'm there", so after the gentlemens handshake to seal the deal I started to think about the magnitude of it.

Okay, so before you start rolling around laughing and questioning whether this is a joke - Yes, I am running the Flora London Marathon next year.

That is, I will be running 26 miles and 385 yards (or 42.195 km) next April.

1. It is for a great charity - Whizz-Kidz who give disabled children the chance to lead a more independent life.

2. It is going to be really really hard, and am sure you will draw amusement from it.

3. This is my first marathon and so all the support I can get it is welcomed.
