I’m looking to raise money for Kidney Research during 2008 and have committed to complete in theBrentwoodhalf marathon and London Triathlon (sprint) and would be grateful for any sponsorship.

I have watched my brother suffer at the hands of kidney failure. At the age of 22 he was diagnosed with both of his kidneys failing. This completely shattered his life. He went onto dialysis straight away and went through various tests for a transplant. In 1995 he finally had a transplant from our Mum, which although went well left him needing various anti-rejection tablets. In another cruel twist of fate this tablets reacted against him and started eating away at his bone in his hip, and thus required a hip transplant. Just when we thought all was going well, we received news that the kidney was starting to fail and as such he is now back on dialysis and waiting for another transplant.
