Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
We did it! The rain held off and we were there all dressed up and ready to go! We ran/walked/jogged at intervals around the course and all completed the 5km in good health and after just 55 minutes, we are very very pleased with ourselves! WE had great fun and will definately be back next year. Please, please help us raise even more by sponsoring us. All my thanks Dawn xx
My two sisters and I are running the 5km to raise money for the Parkinsons Disease Society. Our Dad has suffered with Parkinsons for over 30 years now and we want to help raise money for the people who:
are striving to find a cure
provide invaluable help and support
help to make life better for those with Parkinsons
I can still remember the day Dad told me he had been diagnosed with Parkinsons, in typical Dad style he announced 'Dads got the Hippy Hippy Shakes!' He has always dealt with the disease in the same way, to take it in his stride and say 'up yours you won't beat me'.
It frightens me to realise that by my age (40 soon) Dad had already put up with this disease for nearly ten years. Sometimes it's harder than others and sometimes we all need a bit of a helping hand which is why my sisters and I are going to run this small distance which my Dad would so love to be able to do but cannot.
Please please help us by donating any amount you can and agreeing to the Gift Aid so we can claw some extra money back from the tax man, now there's another incentive for you!
I promise to publish the photos in full colour which I imagine will be a purple hue cos none of us sisters are athletic nor particularly fit!
Thanks for reading this and many, many thanks if you can sponsor me.
See you at the finish line
Dawn xxxx
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Parkinson's Disease Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
