Story
Thanks for visiting my Rangers Arctic Challenge page.
In February 2009 I will be part of a team of 12, led by Rangers Chief Executive Martin Bain, where we will face a 200km journey through the wilds of Norway with husky dog teams to raise funds for the Rangers Charity Foundation.
We will cross mountainous terrain north of the arctic Circle, frozen lakes and pack ice and snow and face temperatures of -30°C in what is a true test of endurance!
We will each be responsible for the feeding and care of our own husky team during the week long challenge and will get expert training in their handling, as well as wildreness survival tips.
This Arctic Challenge will be a unique experience, unlike anything I have ever faced before and will no doubt test my physical and mental reserves! And I hear you ask, why on earth are you doing this... well you all know I LOVE a challenge, so this is it for 2009!
The funds raised from the trip (in total we are hoping in excess of £50k) will go to our three nominated charities this year - UNICEF, RNIB and Fairbridge in Glasgow.
I hope you will sponsor me and fingers crossed I come home in one piece - no dog bites/frostbite/snow blindness... (err the list could go on and on and on)!!!!
Thanks for your support.
Debbie
