Story

WE DID IT!

Sue and Debbie have completed their charity challenge trek in Namibia. We are back in one piece although with blisters, scratches, sore toes and ankles. As we thought the walking was tough - a lot of soft sand which is a nightmare and the heat was unbearable at times (40 degrees). We enjoyed it despite camping for five nights mostly without any washing or other basic facilities. Its amazing what you can do with a wet wipe! Luckily we didnt have to face any black rhino or elephant on the trek although we saw enough spiders, other huge insects, scorpions and baboons.

The important thing is that the group (28 women and 1 man) are on course to raise the £75,000 which will help fund an upgrade of the Hospital's MRI cardiac software and hardware, helping very sick children. The equipment is state of the art and will really make a difference to kids in the hospital. Hearing a nurse from Great Ormond Street on the trek tell us how the equipment will make a difference, really reminded us of why we undertook this challenge.

We do however need further sponsorship to reach our target - despite the generosity of friends and family so far. So please help us to do this by sponsoring us as much as you can.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support. Sue and Debbie
