My story

Sunday 20 July 2008 - UPDATE

It was AWESOME !!!

The free fall part was terrifying - we fell from 10,000 feet at 120 mph - and it has to be said that I spent the entire time (a few seconds !) questioning my sanity. But once the parachute opened it was just beautiful and quiet flying above the Oxfordshire countryside. Absolutely breath-taking.

You have been amazingly generous. Thank you so much for your sponsorship.

Thanks again for your support - and thanks to my cheer leaders who came with me today !

Best wishes
Deborah
PS For anyone who has not yet sponsored but would like to do so, you can still do this for a while yet ! You can do this either by using plastic on line on this site or if you would prefer to sponsor by cheque payable to "The Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust", please send it to me at "Deborah Cooper, Barclays Bank PLC, Group Legal, level 29, 1 Churchill Place, London E14 5HP" and I will make sure that it gets to the Trustees for you.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. In a moment of madness I decided that it would be great fun to experience 'flying' first hand. And so, on 20 July 2008, I will be doing a parachute jump...

Those of you who know me well will know that I just don't DO things like parachute jumps!! So, what on earth has possessed me ? I am raising money for the charity which was set up in memory of a friend and former colleague, Tom ap Rhys Pryce, who was robbed and killed as he walked home on 12 January 2006 to the home he shared with his fiancée Adele.

Tom's Trust does great work - take a look at www.linklaters.com/tarp  and that will tell you much more about it than I can in this message.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

It would be fab if you could please sponsor me ! Thank you !

With fingers crossed for a soft landing and best wishes,

Deborah
