     As some of you know all too well, it’s easy to get gushy about La Vida (cannot wait to share some of the touching letters and photos we’ve received when our new website goes live later this month).

     However, in case you haven’t yet been on the receiving end of an enthusiastic La Vida convo, it’s a UK registered charity which identifies, funds and oversees projects that will directly advance the health and education of those living in poverty in the Latin American region (e.g. student scholarships, medical training, school expansions and community health education). Over the past three years, La Vida has directly impacted the lives of over 20,000 disadvantaged children and their families in Latin America (over £100K has been raised; 97% of all funds go directly to the projects, as all trustees and executive committee members work on a voluntary basis).

     This project work is funded by two annual fundraisers, the first of which is the 10K run. Not sure if this is aggressive or conservative, but I’m hoping to raise at least £1000 (which will cover an entire project for a school, such as a science lab or an activities room; how amazing would that be!!), so am asking for your kind and generous help (especially in the current environment, good grief).

     Any donations (which can hopefully be easily made though justgiving: http://www.justgiving.com/dellademe) are incredibly appreciated and mean so very much to me (and, more importantly, mean so much to the LatAm communities we support). For the HK contingent, the folks at justgiving suggested you enter in “00” into the postcode field; still love the simplicity of addresses in the HKSAR.

     And, last thing (!), if there are any London-based runners who would be interested in a 10K spot, we have a few left, so definitely let me know!
