On October 3rd the University of Derby mens football team will be challenged by the British Heart Foundation Football team to help raise awareness and funds for the British Heart Foundation.

I have been involved in events for the BHF before as i have wanted to help them since i lost my father suddenly and tragically to a heart attack when i was sixteen, since then i have wanted to help others who have been in similar situations and i have wanted to help fund research.

I have to thank my friends and fellow team mates for their constant source of encouragment and devotion to a cause which they have made their own, i am grateful as ever and definetly proud of them for this.

This event has also been greatly helped by Shaun Staniford and the students union at Derby who have been overwhelming in their support and organising of the event, they have provided the pitch and equipment aswell as opening the student bar.

Along with the help from Derby University i have recieved great help from Sophie Jardine of the BHF who has been vital in organising and supporting the event. With the encouraging and enthusiastic approaches of everyone involved i hope we will gain your support for what will be an action packed ninety minutes of football and then awards!
