Story

UPDATE (8/17): Wow! We absolutely cannot believe that we were able to raise over $4,000! Thank you all so much for your generosity.

The event on Saturday went incredibly smoothly thanks to our super volunteers and in-kind contributors. We were able to serve almost 150 meals thanks to your support.

UPDATE (8/5): Thanks so much to everyone that helped us hit our initial goal of raising $3,000! We still have two weeks to go until our service event, and every dollar raised from here on will go 100% to support Inspiration Corporation's programs. Let's see how big of an impact we can make!

If you're healthy enough to finish out the week alive, you're better off than 1 million people in the world today!

If you make minimum wage, you're wealthier than 92% of people in this world.

If you do not know starvation, you're better off than 820 million people in the world.

But, there are people around you, right now, that are starving.

Due to the pandemic, the homeless population here in Chicago has been hit especially hard. Help us help those that have been hit harder than others by the virus.

Our school, DePaul University, tries to exhibit the values and teachings every day of St. Vincent DePaul, who led a life of service. The university encourages their students to do the same.

As a service project, a few of us in an MBA program are trying to give back and help a charity in need. Inspiration Corporation helps those that are affected by homelessness and poverty to improve their lives and increase self-sufficiency through the provision of social services, employment training and placement, and housing. Just since mid-March, Inspiration Corporation has provided more than 13,000 meals to those in need.

On Saturday, August 15th we'll be visiting the Inspiration Cafe in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood to prepare and serve meals to people experiencing homelessness, and we need your help to make it happen. Help us raise $3,000 to fully cover the cost of preparing and serving this meal.

Most of us are still pretty blessed.

So, let’s not go out and seek blessings, let’s go out and be a blessing to someone else’s life.

Please give whatever you can: $1, $20, $100. It doesn’t matter!

Maybe you are feeling the economic effects of Covid-19 too. If you can’t give, PLEASE forward or share this message until we reach our goal.

Thank you!
