It's three years since I did the first day of the Tour of Wessex to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of my friend Neil Jarvie. Having endured 100 miles of cycling in torrential rainfall on that occasion it is quite natural to want to repeat the experience over three days, 320 miles and 25 thousand feet of climbing.

In exchange for having a good chuckle at the nonsensical masochism of this however I ask you to make a donation to Cancer Research. This cruel disease inflicts pain and loss on millions of individuals and families each year; anything we can do to improve treatment for future generations has to be a good thing.
