My name is Doug McIntosh and have competed my cycle challenge this year. This challenge was to cycle from Lands End to John O Groats within 100 hours and I completed the challenge in 98 Hours, 45 Minutes and 23 Seconds, completing the full distance of approximately 860 miles in total. I was due to do this challenge last year but during my training I was knocked off my bike by a car and injured my shoulder and had to postpone the event to recover from an operation to help repair the damage done. The 100 hour Challenge was an idea that I decided to put toward to the John O'Groats Landsend Association. I won the prestigious Griffin Challenge Trophy 12 years ago for the monies I raised for Imperial Cancer Research and the method of my achievement; having lost my arm to cancer, I cycled one armed with a non adapted cycle. I then cycled over 2000 miles around Britain for the Anchor Unit Clinic D where I am a patient.
I would like to thank anyone who supports me on this challenge.
Best Regards Doug
