You may be wondering what on earth made me decide to run the Brighton Marathon, at times I wonder too, but my trainings going well.  So far I'm running about 11 miles quite comfortably and in November will be doing the Gosport 1/2 marathon.

Last week someone helpfully offered to take me on a run over the Dovwns (10 miles, they assured me)  nearly 17 miles and 3 hours  later we finally returned home soaking wet and knackered.  My wife was on the verge of calling the air ambulance - what did I learn?  Nipples, keep your nipples protected my legs might have been okay, but boy my nipples were sore!!!

Fri 13 Nov - As a stepping stone I'll be doing a half marathon this weekend, but have you seen the weather forecast, gale force winds and running along the solent, probably find myself on the isle of wight before I know it.  For all those really interested you'll be pleased to know my nipple problem has been resolved, I recommend anti-chafe, but I think my breastfeeding days are over!!!

Sun 15 Nov - Finished in 1hour 54 minutes, which was pretty okay, but more impressed with the free fruit cake, drink and biscuit. Definately doing it again next year and try to get two goodie bags!

fri 22 jan - managed to keep running in the snow by running on the beach, of course when the tide is out, it is a nice alterative to running on the roads or even better  if you are thinking of going 26 miles take a taxi

Sat 13 March - Firstly would like to thank all friends and family who have made a donation, I'm really grateful and hoping to get towards the £500 mark.  Today did a long run and am now really thinking I can do it, just hoping its not going to be with me crossing the line on my knees. I really am beginning to feel my age - yes 35 haha.
