Hello everyone,

 

Alex and I are running once more and this time we have a new member of the team, Josh. He is a fellow Wetherspoons boy and has been training hard with us all winter through some really difficult weather conditions, which I am sure you have all seen. He is hoping, just like we are, that it will all be worthwhile and we can raise some serious money for our charity which is the same as last year, Chailey Heritage School.

So why should you give us your money, I hear you ask? Well the answer is really very simple, our charity is just fantastic. We are once again raising money for Chailey and for those of you who are new to our cause, this is a specialist school for young people with physical, medical or learning difficulties. The care that the children receive here really is second to none because of the hard work done by the carers and the equipment that is on offer.

However, none of this comes cheap and the school relies heavily on donations from the general public. This is where you guys come in because without your help, these kids would have it really tough, and believe me it's already hard enough for them. So if you would like to help and the thought of us struggling around that 13.5 mile course taking us up the Downs and around Eastbourne, then this is the place for you.

Those of you who donated last year will remember Louise who is my partner's daughter. Louise has a range of complex disabilites and attends Chailey. She is the reason for our passion for the school because we know that without it, she would never be as happy as she is. Despite having to live with things that are just too hard to comprehend, she still smiles every day and that makes our little run seem rather insignificant. So any help you can give will make a childs life, just like Louise, a little bit easier which they really deserve.
