Story
Eight men, four weeks, zero alcohol.
That's right, this years FebFast sees eight of us give up our favourite past-time in aid of a very worthy cause.
Following the success of last year’s FebFast4Jodie we've decided to carry on the tradition of turning February into a dry month and raise as much cash as we can for a charity of our choice. Every penny we raise stays locally, to help those who most need it in Edinburgh. So this year we could see no better way of supporting our local community that to give the funds over to Shakti Women’s Aid.
They were established in 1986. In 1986 Al was barely able to hold a pint, Brian was just starting and Kyle was simply being born. However in Edinburgh very often there was not the provision of basic needs such as language support and appropriate refuge space for women, children and young people from Black/Ethnic Minority communities experiencing domestic abuse. Shakti was established to give just that.
Today they provide, among other things, assistance with accessing services such as medical, legal, financial or housing support, for more info just click on the link above.
We'd prefer the kind of money that folds; but all we are asking is that you take the money that you would spend on one drink, a pint, a nip or a glass of fine wine and give it over for the sake of a deserving cause. To help raise awareness, the usually alcohol-saturated have become alcohol-free.

Please give generously.
Best wishes,
Archie, Gregor, Brian, Kyle, David, Dave, Robbie & Al.
